Assembly Technician

Location: In person – Liberty, SC Pay: $20 - $24/hr Job Type: Full-Time

Provenance Recruitment and Staffing is currently seeking an Assembly Technician for a manufacturing company specializing in aerospace ignition systems. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and performing failure analysis on aerospace ignition systems using electrical measurement and environmental testing equipment.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for in-process and final acceptance testing of aerospace ignition system products. The Assembly Technician will utilize oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, function generators, and other electrical test equipment to evaluate product performance and troubleshoot failures. The role also involves operating environmental testing equipment, including high-temperature ovens, thermal cycle chambers, and vibration test equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong electronics background, experience testing mechanical and electrical assemblies, and the ability to troubleshoot electronic systems using schematics and wiring diagrams.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform in-process and final acceptance testing of products according to required company and customer standards
Operate electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), ampere meters, AC/DC power supplies, function generators, and various test loads
Perform failure analysis on units that do not meet testing requirements
Work with Engineering to identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions
Perform routine maintenance on test equipment and limited troubleshooting and repair of environmental testing equipment
Accurately document testing activities and failure analysis according to established operating procedures
Program and operate environmental test equipment according to test plan requirements
Assemble and maintain test equipment used in the manufacturing of turbine ignition system products
Assist Engineering with the design and development of new electrical test equipment
Develop basic PLC programs and set up/program temperature controllers
Perform soldering of surface-mount components at the PCB level
Use electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues

Requirements:

Associate degree in a technical field required, such as Industrial Electronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or Engineering Technology with an electronics concentration
2+ years of experience with the assembly and testing of mechanical and electrical assemblies
Proficiency using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and function generators
Ability to develop basic PLC programs and set up/program temperature controllers
Demonstrated ability to solder surface-mount components at the PCB level
Working knowledge of circuit-board-level electronic components, including timers, comparators, resistors, diodes, capacitors, and logic chips
Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams for electrical/electronic troubleshooting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
J-Standard solder certification and/or IPC-A-610 training is a plus
