Public Works Street Tech

Provenance Recruitment and Staffing is currently seeking a Public Works Street Tech for a local municipality. This is a hands-on position supporting the maintenance and upkeep of city streets, public spaces, parks, athletic facilities, and other municipal property.

Job Summary:

This position performs a variety of general maintenance, groundskeeping, and public works duties throughout the city. Responsibilities may include maintaining streets and public areas, landscaping, mowing, cleanup, and assisting with other maintenance projects as assigned.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, comfortable working outdoors, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with general maintenance of city streets, rights-of-way, parks, athletic fields, and other public areas
  • Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and general grounds maintenance
  • Maintain curbs, landscaped areas, flower beds, and other city property
  • Plant, weed, mulch, and water landscaped areas as needed
  • Blow and remove leaves, brush, grass clippings, and other debris
  • Prune trees, shrubs, and other vegetation
  • Perform general cleanup and beautification of public areas
  • Assist with street, grounds, and other Public Works maintenance projects as assigned
  • Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, lawn equipment, and other assigned equipment
  • Work as part of a team to complete daily assignments safely and efficiently
  • Follow all established safety procedures and supervisor instructions

Requirements:

• Experience with landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, public works, or similar hands-on work preferred
  • Knowledge of basic tools and outdoor maintenance equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule
  • Strong attention to workplace and public safety
