Die Cast Operator
Provenance Recruitment and Staffing is currently seeking a Die Cast Operator for a manufacturing company. This is a hands-on production role responsible for operating automatic die casting cells, inspecting finished castings, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met throughout the production process.
Job Summary:
The Die Cast Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining automatic die casting cells used to produce quality die cast parts. This position includes machine startup and shutdown, trimming and inspecting castings, assisting with tooling changes and minor maintenance, documenting production activity, and identifying defective materials. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, able to work independently, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trim, inspect, and pack castings produced in automatic die casting cells
• Assist Quality Control with sorting and inspecting parts as needed
• Start up and properly shut down die cast machines, trim presses, robots, and related equipment
• Move robots to the home position, reset programs, and manually operate robots using the appropriate controls
• Assist with setup and changes of die cast and trim tooling
• Perform minor machine maintenance, including polishing and cleaning parting lines
• Complete required work-cell documentation, including flip charts and check sheets
• Record production downtime and scrap in the Shot Scope system
• Inspect, identify, and contain defective materials for quality review
• Read and follow quality-check requirements outlined in visual aids
• Perform initial die startup for first-piece production
• Provide relief for automatic or manual casting operators as required
• Understand the basic operation of die casting machines and related equipment
• Assist with changing plunger tips
• Maintain a clean and organized work cell and perform general plant housekeeping
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently without close supervision
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a manufacturing environment
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Ability to understand and follow work instructions and quality requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to comply with established safety policies and procedures
Work Location: In person – Liberty, SC
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts, some Saturdays required
Pay: $16.50 – $17.50/hr
