Machine Operator
Provenance Recruitment and Staffing is currently seeking Machine Operators for a manufacturing company in Liberty, SC. This is a full-time position in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for loading and unloading parts, operating CNC equipment, inspecting machined components, and maintaining accurate production and quality records. This position requires close attention to machine performance and part quality to identify potential equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions. Operators are also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area and meeting established production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload parts from CNC machines according to work instructions
• Perform basic hand-finishing operations including grinding, filing, and deburring
• Clean and maintain machines, tooling, parts, and work areas in proper production condition
• Monitor CNC equipment to ensure machines and tooling are operating correctly
• Meet established production requirements and immediately report issues that could prevent production goals from being achieved
• Inspect parts throughout production runs for quality and dimensional accuracy
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, plug gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other specialized gauges after proper instruction
• Identify and report machine malfunctions, out-of-tolerance conditions, and other quality concerns
• Gather, record, and maintain required production and quality data
• Follow proper material handling and scrap procedures
• Maintain an organized and accurate record of required quality documentation
• Assist with monthly inventory as needed
• Follow all established safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, and near misses
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of CNC machine operating or mechanical tool experience preferred, but not required
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Ability to read and understand written work instructions
• Ability to work independently without close supervision
• Ability to multitask in a production environment
• Strong attention to quality and detail
• Willingness and ability to learn the proper use of precision measuring instruments
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time
Work Location: In person – Liberty, SC
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hours shifts, some Saturdays required
Pay: $16 – $17/hr
