Docket Clerk
Provenance Recruitment and Staffing is currently seeking a Docket Clerk to support the Clerk of Court’s office for a local government entity in Pickens County, SC. This position performs clerical and administrative duties supporting Family Court operations and requires a high level of organization, accuracy, confidentiality, and professional customer service.
Job Summary:
The Docket Clerk is responsible for helping coordinate and maintain the Family Court docket, including scheduling hearings, maintaining court records, preparing dockets, processing legal documents, and assisting attorneys, court personnel, and members of the public. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable working with confidential information, and able to provide professional and courteous service in a busy court environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule Family Court hearings, coordinate docket times, and enter hearing dates into the Family Court Case Management System
- Prepare and maintain court dockets, case files, hearing requests, orders, and other legal documentation while ensuring confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping
- Obtain and provide case and trial information to judges, attorneys, litigants, court personnel, and other authorized parties
- Process, copy, index, file, transmit, and maintain court records and legal documents, including petitions, subpoenas, summonses, orders, notices, judgments, and dispositions
- Answer phones, greet visitors, provide hearing information, assist with court-related forms and document requests, and direct inquiries to appropriate personnel
- Maintain required case reports, process signed orders, update case information, and ensure files and documentation are returned to the appropriate locations
- Assist with general clerical duties and attend required meetings, training sessions, seminars, and workshops
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 6 months of related clerical or administrative experience
- Valid state driver’s license required
- Strong organizational, data-entry, and attention-to-detail skills
- Effective written and verbal communication with strong customer service skills
- Ability to accurately handle confidential records, legal documents, and multiple administrative tasks
Work Location: In person – Pickens County, SC
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $20.68/hr
