MRF Operator
Provenance Recruitment and Staffing is currently seeking a Landfill Attendant to support the Solid Waste Department for a local government entity in Pickens County, SC. This is a temp-to-perm position eligible for benefits after 6 months.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for monitoring and screening all recyclable materials delivered by residents to County’s Municipal Recycling Facility, to assist in general landfill labor, and to monitor and maintain site appearance and safety.
Schedule: 1st shift hours, Monday – Friday, some Saturdays required
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and screen recyclable materials delivered by the public
• Assist in loading/unloading and cleanup activities across the recycling center and surrounding areas
• Maintain the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of the site, equipment, and tools
• Support special projects and provide general labor as directed
• Process materials such as E-waste and cardboard
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations and materials
• Answer calls and provide basic information to residents and site users
• Assist in the training or supervision of inmate workers when needed
• Attend meetings and training sessions to maintain and improve job knowledge
• Follow all safety procedures and County policies at all times
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience preferred
• Ability to walk, stand, lift (20–50 lbs), and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be detail-oriented and follow written/oral instructions accurately
• Valid driver’s license required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to follow proper safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment
Work Location: In person – Pickens County, SC
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, some Saturdays required
Pay: Based on experience – $16/hr
