Tool Room Technician

Provenance Recruitment and Staffing is currently seeking a Tool Room Technician for a manufacturing company in Liberty, SC. This is a full-time position in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Job Summary:

The Tool Room Technician assists with the preparation of dies and related components for production setup, repair, and maintenance. This position is responsible for organizing tooling, cleaning and evaluating components, preparing dies for shipment, and ensuring all necessary components are properly identified and ready for production. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, organized, comfortable using precision measuring tools, and able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain inventory of shot sleeves, ladles, bushings, knockout bars, die clamps, plunger tips, and other setup tooling
  • Pull dies according to the tooling schedule and provide them to Tool Room personnel for setup preparation
  • Wash dies coming from Production before they enter the Tool Room for repair or maintenance
  • Ensure all related components are correctly identified and placed with the appropriate die before being provided to Production
  • Keep die storage areas clean, neat, and organized
  • Clean, maintain, and evaluate shot sleeves
  • Notify Tool Room management or engineering when sleeves need to be reworked or replaced
  • Prepare dies and die components for shipment
  • Identify and work with basic tooling parts and supplies
  • Utilize gauges, calipers, and other measuring equipment

Requirements:

• Prior experience with injection mold maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting preferred but not required
  • Basic knowledge of tooling parts and supplies
  • Ability to use gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs.

Work Location: In person – Liberty, SC
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts, some Saturdays required
Pay: $17 – $18/hr
